PASCON is a new material that can be reproduced repeatedly by melting waste thermoplastics and combining it with fly-ash (a by-product of anthracite generated in a thermo electric power plant) and blast -furnace slag (a by-product of iron ore melting in a steel mill). The most recently developed ESSCON is a new Eco-friendly flame retarding material, which can be used on products requiring nontoxic flame-retarding performance, made by adding inorganic flame retardant developed by ourselves and other reinforcing materials. The two materials are both manufactured and produced by 1,000 Ton capacity large size injection machines.
The fluidity of the raw material is very low due to the density in melting state and presence of many impurities. In addition, the fly-ash and furnace slag have respective hardness and sizes. Hence, the manufacturing of the new material PASCON requires astute technical knowhow in the reprocessing facility which can keep constant granularity through crush and screening while maintaining smooth injection. There were many technical problems such as the reduction of mold’s lifespan by enlargement due to basic hardness of the raw material. Nevertheless, we overcame these problems with consistent investment and continuous R&D and succeeded in obtaining the substance patent, and subsequently we were able to promote the commercialization of various products as we now see.
